D'Oreille Winery Harvest Party
Sandpoint's
very own award-winning winery had its annual wine-stomping Harvest Party this
weekend with live music, fun, and the release of its new Primitivo red.
Primitivo is the parent grape of Zinfandel, and I had the good luck of being the
first to taste this new wine by vintner Steve Meyer. Steve was on my radio show
the Tuesday before the stomp, and we sipped while conversing. The wine is
definitely approachable, with up front fruit and sufficient tannins to have a
nice balance.
